I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here. I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style 'n good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above.

You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York.

My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married?

I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?

Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income,'n it seems that this is my upper limit.

If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names 'n addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) Which age group should I target?
3) Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I've met a few girls who don't have looks 'n are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys.
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, 'n who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor.

My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope
everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain.

Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" 'n "money" : Person A provides beauty,'n Person B pays for it, fair 'n square.

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year.

Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, 'n you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position".
If the trade value dropped we will sell it 'n it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased".

Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. 'n by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income.This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Usually, after interview, if you are listed as No.1. the employer will phone you that they will perform reference check on the second day. or phone you that you are the right person.

Tell me aboutyourself.

This is really more of a request than a question. But these few words can put you on the spot in a way no question can. Many quickly lose control of the interview during the most critical time- the first five minutes.This is not the time to go into a lengthy history or wander off in different directions. Your response should be focused and purposeful. Communicate a pattern of interests and skills that relate to the position in question. Consider your response to this question as a commercial that sells your autobiography.Provide an answer that includes in formation about where you grew up, where you went to school, your initial work experience, additional education and special training, where you are now, and what you intend to do next. One of the most effective ways to prepare for this question is to develop a 60-second biographic sketch that emphasizes a pattern of interests, skills, and accomplishments. Focus your response around a common theme related to your major interests and skills. Take, for example, the following response, which emphasizes computers.

"I was born in Canton, Ohio and attended Lincoln High School. Ever since I was a teenager, I tinkered with computers. It was my hobby, my passion, and my way of learning. Like most kids I enjoyed computer games. When my folks gave me a computer as a reward for making honor roll mysophomore year, I mastered DOS, Windows, and WordPerfect within six months. I then went on to teach myself programming basics.
By the time I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to study programming. From that point on, everything fell into place. My life revolved around computing.By my junior year at Syracuse, I decided I wanted to work for a major software manufacturer. That is why I had an internship last summer at FastTrack Software.

This response sets a nice tone for starting the interview.The interviewee is able to say a lot within 60 seconds by staying focused. The message is clear: the interviewee has both passion and focus relating to the position. He stays on message and concludes by leaving the door open for additional questions about his education and experience. Unfortunately some candidates get off on the wrong foot by rambling on for several minutes about their childhood, family, hobbies, travels, and interests.

Repeat Key Accomplishment Statements
Throughout the interview you will be asked numerous questions about your attitude and ability to do the job. Whenever possible, talk about your accomplishments in terms of what you did and the results of your actions for employers. Give examples of your effectiveness, which should include specific skills and statistics.

Where do you seey ourself five years from now?

This open-ended question is one of the most difficult and stressful ones job seekers face. Employers ostensibly ask this question because they are looking for people who know what they want to do and who are focused on specific professional goals. If you lack goals, you will have difficulty answering this question. Be sure you arrive at the interview with a clear vision of what you want to do today, tomorrow and five years from now. Be consistent with the objective on your resume and the skills and accomplishments you're communicating to the interviewer. Your answer should be employer-centered. For example,

"In five years Ihope to be working with an employer in an increasingly responsible position,that enables me to utilize my talents and work closely with my colleagues insolving important problems. I see myself taking on new and exciting challengesin an enjoyable environment and hopefully this will be with your company."
Do not indicate that you hope to start your own business,change careers, or go back to school. Such responses indicate a lack oflong-term interest since you do not plan to be around for long. While some may respond that they honestly haven't really thought that far ahead, the interviewer infers that the applicant lacks vision and goals.

Describe a major goal you've set for yourself recently.

Give an example of a goal you both set and achieved.I deally, this should be a professional goal; such as improved time managements kills, achieved new performance targets, or learned a new skill. A personal example can also be appropriate if it reinforces your pattern of accomplishments. For example, if you take a great deal of initiative and quickly move into leadership positions, you might use a personal example relating to your recent community work: organized a community walk-a-thon that raised $30,000 in matching funds to purchase new computers for the local library. Talk about results of achieving your goal. This indicates you set realistic goals and that you can focus on outcomes. Select an example that has interesting outcomes related to your efforts. Do not be distracted by the mention of two other candidates,you don't know anything about them and they could be fictitious. Focus on what strengths you bring to the table. How to find job in Australia

I immigrated to Australia few months back. I was armed with an IIT degree with 4 year exp in world class company in India. Looked on-line for various tactics to get job quickly and implemented most of what I found logical. With substantial effort and hard work i finally managed to get a job. This page is an extract of my experience during my struggle which I found the hard way so that others would streamline their efforts and get job quickly.
How Long is too long: My first week resulted in 2 interview and the requirement was so close i believed i was too unlucky to not get in one of them. I was on high and thought it would be cakewalk. Soon reality strikes and i entered in dry period with nothing happening for next 3 weeks. I talked to many seasoned people and they helped me to calm down. I was told if someone migrating to au gets first job in 2 month, his lucky star is shinning very very bright. Typicall time is from 2 month to 6 month. You would be very unlucky not to find anything even struggling for six months.
One Lingering Curiosity: First lets clear one curiosity which comes to all of our minds. Can one find job sitting back in home country ?When I tried searching sitting back in india I must admit the response was poor. Few bothered to reply back with standard regret mail. Very few recruiters do reply back that they would consider if i were in Au. After i arrived, i had opportunity to talk to many recruiters face to face and asked if its possible to consider for position sitting back in home country. Unless the requirement is really unique the company would easily find the skill set in the present market and would not consider going for visa delays and hassles. With global financial crisis , the chances of securing job sitting in homeland is virtually impossible in my view.

Job Market Dynamics: Let me first give you a brief insight how things work here. Here in Au most of the jobs are advertised by recruiting agencies who are hired by companies to find suitable candidates. These agencies post job ads to various sites and in response gets tons of resumes. The recruiters put email filters so that only resume with most matching keywords pass their mailbox. Then recruiters scan all resumes in mailbox and most of the time submit just 1-2 resumes to company for considerations. Usually one company give request to 3-4 recruiting agency hence these agencies are competing for the commission for this one job. Now understand the dynamics here. The recruiter has only 1-2 resume which he can submit from the whole lot and he can maximize his chance of securing the commission only if he presents the very best talents to company. Hence the first and the biggest hurdle in securing job is convincing the recruiting agency that you are the best talent available for this position and if he gets any doubt on your credentials then your resume is heading to his bin.

Contact Recruiting Agency: If the resume is a great match to the opening its highly recommended to call the recruiter after submitting resume. The recruiter would honestly convey why he feel you are not the best option for this role and you have a chance to clarify anything if the resume is not highlighting it properly. If he buys your explanation then its better to ask for the exact requirement and resend another tailor made resume highlighting in CV the exp and achievement in-line with the requirements. Recruiters prefer to meet the candidate to ensure whom they are presenting to the hiring manager. If he asks to meet, you should gladly agree and try to fix appointment at earliest. If recruiter do not follow you for this opening in future, its better not to worry bcos the job has already slipped out of your hand so fetch another rather than going for wild goose chase. Tailored resume highlighting requirements is very important. Since most of the openings are contract based companies dont hire anyone who has learning curve. Even if the recruiter dont budge after you call, its wise to politely exit the call and try to bridge good relation with the recruiter so that you are considered for future prospects. Out of 100 applicants he rejects 98 so Always remember he may be your biggest hurdle but he can be your stepping stone if he believes you and short list you.

Local Experience: One thing I heard quite frequently is called 'local experience'. This one word will hurt your prospects more often then not. There are many reasons for giving significance to local experience. Few recruiters says its easy to check references if one has local experience. Candidates under sheer desperation to get any job go in length to tailor resume which they cant defend in interview and waste everyone time. Remember tailoring is highlighting your skills relevant to requirement and would certainly help but fake resume wont. With local exp one can be sure to be able to work with the team in au and has adopted to the aussie work culture. I personally believe the arguments for local exp are weak and unfair but who says life is always fair.

Finance Matters: The most important thing to consider before landing is finance. Its the most important thing bcos Sydney/Melbourne are quite expensive. I was told by many that you should have finance to servive in Au for atleast 6 months. Me and my wife were spending wisely still the expenses were huge . Few tactics I believe one should adopt initially:

1. If possible dont come with family. If you come alone the cost of living can be reduced by sharing apartment etc.
2. Visit few sites to get idea of how and where to find accommodation
3. Staying initially with friend/relative is wise before you know how things work
4. Internet and telephone is required for finding job so account for a laptop and USB internet connection
5. Public transport is reasonable but dont even dare to walk into cabs . They leave a big hole in pocket.

Voluntary and honorary options: Try to find if someone can give you honorary job which gives you experience rather then sitting at home. One should be intellegent to fish at the right place. A software programmer with 5 year of exp will not be gaining anything by working as unpaid sales man for garments shop but would be helped if he is selling some software. Find hard and convince your employer(very difficult) you would not run as soon as you find something
Communication: There is great importance given to communication. The candidate should be filled with confidence. The hand shake should be firm and confident contact to eye is required. I personally believe there is little place for politeness and humbleness when you come for interview. Dont get me wrong. Aussies are one of the most polite and courtiers people but hiring manager want to see confidence on the face of candidate( dont mix with arrogance). I would highly recommend practising commonly asked questions to avoid any pitfalls.

Resume Building: Your resume is the biggest weapon in your bag. Use it wisely. For first job its highly recommended the resume is detailed. The details are required so that there are less queries during interview. Being the first job, one may not know the best way to answer so the lesser questions are preferred so put as much detail as you can. Here is a catch. Put all details but nothing which wastes readers time as time is very highly regarded here.

Applying for Job: When you land in oz, everyone would give you their own idea on how to apply and search for job. Few people told me to apply for each and every job you see on-line even if you dont have any relevant experience. It may sound crazy but it makes sense. The resume may reach the recruiting agency (if passed email filter) and he may consider it for future. But there again is a catch. If you overdo it it may irritate recruiter, he may think you dont understand the stuff you are talking and worst he may block your incoming mails. Remember you are wasting his time and for him time is directly proportional to money. I myself overdid it and got the response from one " I read your resume carefully and found NONE of the requirement matching. " Finally I decided to put all my efforts to the few for which I am good.

Networking Sites: I believe networking through linkedin, facebook, orkut etc is the best way to get first job in oz. Recruiters obviously prefer those with local experience and they usually have openings which are for senior positions. Companies usually consider immigrants for junior positions and once the ability of person is proven he moves up the ladder. Unfortunately junior positions are not advertized since the company prefer not to spent money for junior positions and to fill it internally through reference. Thats where networking is so important. It takes a while to build a working network in foreign land so one should have patience and dedication for networking.

How they skim the resume and cover letter

I'm recruiting at the moment and we've decided not to use an agency but go it alone. It's been quite interesting.

Here are some tips from this side of the fence:

If you're going to write a cover letter, make it page one of your word doc and make your resume start on page two. It's easier to read through

From a job advert you should be able to pick around three main things that the employer is looking for. The first stage of filtering I do is to skim the resume and check for these things. Sometimes two our of three will get you a maybe but your resume needs to be customised so that these requirements are clearly demonstrated and highlighted. Really this stage takes me no more than 30 seconds per applicant.

Don't create your own document layout. The Microsoft templates are really good and recruiters are familiar with them. Tweak the format a little by all means. Style is important but content is more important.

Be consise. Too much detail makes you look desperate and hides your key skills.

Don't use non-standard fonts - it's unlikely anyone will have them installed and your layout will appear in Courier or Times ruining your intention.

Save the document in print layout zoomed to either 'page width' or 'two pages' your resume probably wont be printed out in the first round of filtering but saving it in page layout mode gives a good idea what it will eventually look like on paper and hopefully, when the recruiter finally prints it for an interview it will jog their memory and look identail to how they remember seeing it on screen.

Don't list your 'weakenesses' it just looks stupid.

Incude your date of birth and address. It's probably illegal to makde decisions based on this but let's not play games. If I want a junior developer he's going to be <25yo

State that you are an Australian Resident or, if you're not, what visa you have.

html files probably aren't as useful as word documents. People like MSword.

If the job is advertised on seek or mycareer then apply using the portal. If you apply by emailing manually then your application will probably need manual attention and processing prematurely. Although this might seem like a good thing it will probably make the recruiter hostile because they have better things to do than spoon feed people who can't use a basic on-line application system ;)

Find a filename more imagniative than 'resume.doc' 'JobRef First Name Last Name Resume' is probably good. Also avoid 'resume5.doc' It looks suspicious.

Check out file > properties in your word doc - it shows info you might not want to disclose like total editing time and number of revisions. Also be sure that you don't have version controlling switched on. I received one large word file and my curious mind decided to find why the file was so big. Reason: a seperate version was included for each time it had been saved. I noticed that the applicants degree grade had improved over time ;)

Remeber your attachment - at least 5% of people forget to attach their resume.

昨日からQuery Application Statusのサイトが断続的に繋がらないし、移民局もなかなか繋がらない。
2月8日の移民政策で被害を被ったACSのやり手ハッカーが腹いせに移民局に対してDDS(Distributed Denial of Service)攻撃を仕掛けているんじゃないかってもっぱらのうわさ。
TFNのサイトもunder maintenanceだし、しばらくは状況のチェックができなさそうだ。。

PR保持者がやってはいけないミス

どうでもいいこと

今日も自分より後にCase Officerにアサインされた人が2人Approvedになった。
いったいいつになったら自分の番になるんだろ。。

実はGrantにかかる日数と出身国はあまり関係がなく、むしろ独身か結婚しているか
（副申請人がいるかどうか）で差が出てくるのかもしれない。

ちょっと違う例えだけど、自分が会社の社長だとして、独身と家族持ちの
二人の採用候補者がいたら、やっぱり家族持ちのほうを採ると思う
(もちろん二人とも能力は同じという仮定で)。背負うものがあるから
採っても簡単に会社やめないだろうし。

あぁ～、いけないいけない神経質になってる。。
愚痴はこれで終わり。

本日技術永住の新基準が発表された。以下、要約。

・2007年9月1日前に申請した人（136,137,138 etc）
　⇒Grantの人数枠を定める。あぶれた人は一律申請料を返金。

・CSLは2010年中に廃止。

・2月8日よりMODLリストを廃止
　⇒MODLの15点加点は無くなる。申請基準の120ポイントは変わらないのでIELTS各項目×7など
　　他で点数を稼ぐしかない。３０歳以上の人はかなりシビアになりそう。
　　またMODLがなくなるので、ITの人はCSLの審査優先を受けられなくなる。
※ITについては、これまでMODLリストに乗っていればCSLと主張出来たが、MODLが廃止されるため、CSLと主張出来なくなる。

・4月末までに新しい需要リストSOLが発表され、MODL変わるものとして適用される(2010年中)
・2月8日前に175,176を申請した人は影響を受けない。

まさに青天の霹靂。昨年の9月23日政策の即日適用といい、オーストラリアの移民政策はなんてスリリングなんでしょうか。

CO(Case Officer)がアサインされて早2ヶ月。
追加書類の渡航証明と健康診断はすぐ済ませたのに、
一体いつになったらGrant Letterが届くのだろう。

先週火曜移民局に電話してCO(Case Officer)から、書類に不足はないから
できるだけ速くあなたのケースを処理するよって返事もらったけど、その以降も
自分は音沙汰なしで、他の人がどんどんGrantになって行く。
（Grant　3人、Pregrant3人。そのうちGrant1人Pregrant3人は自分より後申請。）

ネット上の情報から分析するに、日本人は追加書類を提出した後他の国よりも
審査時間が長い気がする。中国人は0.5ヶ月～1ヶ月で済むのに対して日本人
は2～3ヶ月。日本人はオーストラリア人に嫌われているのかしら。
あぁ、Grantでも却下でもいいから速く結果を出して。放置だけはやめてほしい。。

シドニーでほぼ決定なんだけど、他の地域も調べてみる。

タスマニア:
自然環境はいいけど、仕事がない。
働ける口としてはコックやるか農場の期間工ぐらい。若者は高校卒業と
同時に大都市に移るぐらいだから、本当の意味で田舎なんだろうね。
日本で例えるときっと沖縄かな。とりあえずパス。

アデレード:
メルボルンより発展速度が遅く、シドニーほど生活が豊かではない。
ブリスベンよりにぎやかではなく、パースほど現代的ではない。
労働市場が小さいので専門職を探しづらい。
特にIT,金融、建築、流通系の仕事は難。
Labour職だったらまぁまぁある。
給料はシドニーより低い。家賃は他都市と比べて相対的に低い。

パース:
別名『陸の孤島』

ブリスベン:
蒸し暑い。娯楽が少ない。海が遠い。

それと、家の回線がPair Gain System内の場合、ADSL2が使えず、

　しかも講師は非オーストラリア人が多い（韓国人、アラブ人講師）。
　期間は1ヵ月半。経験者曰くLLNPはやめといたほうがいいとのこと。

English for employment（EFE）･･･
　仕事探し/面接のテクニック伝授。
　模擬面接もやってくれる。
　cover letterの書き方も教えてくれる。
　期間は一日5時間、周４回の10週。

・Centerlinkスタッフの対応が極度に悪いらしい。
　Centerlinkをオンラインで利用するためのメモ。
　（Centerlinkにわざわざ行かなくても、オンラインで出来てしまうらしい。）

　１．centralinkで必要申請用紙をもらう。記入したらcentralinkに渡す。
　　　ref numberをもらう。
　２．ref numberをもらってネットでonline serviceを開通

・独身の永住者にとってCenterlinkはあまり意味なし。
（仕事探しのID番号をもらうだけ。もらっても仕事が見つかるわけではない。）

・If your income low than $562 per week, you can get some benefit
　..........for single person。但し、移民してから2年経っていることが前提条件。

Visa Granted の調べ方

タックス・ファイル・ナンバ(TFN)の状態を調べることによって、VisaがGrantedになったかどうかを調べる裏技。

※Case Officer(CO)に割り当たった以降に有効

具体的には、

にて必要な情報を入力後、次の文言が表示されればOK（Visa Grantedということ）。

"Your details indicate that you are eligible for a TFN but you have not yet arrived in Australia. Please wait until you arrive in Australia before applying for a TFN."

入力内容は下記の通り。
ちなみに自分の場合はまだGrantedになっていないようなので、図８のような表示がされる。(1/2現在)
尚、入力を速く行ってしまった場合、図８ではなく、図９が表示されてまうので注意が必要。
※各入力画面では1分程時間をおいて次画面へ進むといいみたい。
